Few humans have ever faced the vastness of outer space and then had to literally come back down to Earth after. In Lucy In The Sky, Natalie Portman plays an astronaut who struggles immensely upon returning to her home planet after glimpsing the “vast celestial everything” that lies beyond it.
“I just feel a little off,” she narrates in the trailer. “You go up there and you see the whole universe, and everything here looks so small.”
Directed by Legion‘s Noah Hawley, Lucy teases sci-fi and surrealism as Lucy grapples with her mundane reality (it’s loosely based on real-life astronaut Lisa Nowak, who was arrested after returning from missions on Discovery and the International Space Station). Read more…
