Snooping around on Google Earth can give you a unique perspective of the world around you, but the images are static so clicking is a slow process.
Páraic McGloughlin, an artist residing in Ireland, created a mesmerizing animation by compiling thousands of satellite images from Google Earth titled Arena.
McGloughlin says the unique view was inspired by the structures we create on Earth.
“The massive contrast between gridded architectural systems and the natural environment is something that when seen from above is very apparent and nearly intrusive looking,” he told Directors Notes. “Cityscapes are at the same time becoming the norm and are in themselves some kind of natural evolution of the planet’s environment.
