Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when you have to do it over and over again.
Just ask Vine co-creator Dom Hofmann, who hit fans of the now-defunct looping video app with some unfortunate news Friday: He’s postponing development of the app’s successor indefinitely.
Hoffman hit fans with a ray of sunshine in November when he announced he was working on bringing Vine back from its Twitter-induced death. Alas, like Sisyphus barely shy of the peak, Hofmann’s digital boulder came crashing back down. Again.
Hofmann dropped news that development of V2 (as the proposed reborn platform was tentatively called) was being halted via the company’s community forums, noting that in the end, he couldn’t see a way past the “financial and legal hurdles.” Read more…
